At the 2026 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago, we look forward to connecting with you and having conversations about: 

  • our library-aligned digital ecosystem, consisting of the Palace Project, BiblioBoard and the Indie Author Project
  • the sustainable terms negotiated by our Content & Scholarly Communications Initiatives team
  • our ongoing work in supporting open source research infrastructure and open access publishing
  • our open source hosting of DSpace, ArchivesSpace and CollectionSpace

Here is a bit of what we have planned, both in and away from the booth. All times are CT.

  • Interested in learning more about what’s going on in the ebook landscape? Join Lyrasis and other industry professionals for Ebook Friday, held at McCormick Place W 190, Friday, from 9 - 3 p.m.
  • Meet the Lyrasis team at the Friday Night opening 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the Marketplace, at booth #4631 and look for a special giveaway!
  • On Saturday from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at booth #4631, meet Cynthia Swanson, the 2025 Indie Author of the Year and get a signed copy of her winning novel, Anyone but Her.
  • Join Micah May of the Ebooks and Community Engagement team at Lyrasis, along with other panelists including Marshall Breeding, Peter Musser, Michael Hanegan and Dr. Brandy McNeil, for Ethical AI in Libraries: A Critical Look at the Promise and Potential on Sunday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Micah will also moderate the panel Data vs. Censorship: How Critical Data to Protect Intellectual Freedom is Being Preserved, on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. This panel will explore how book bans are impacting local communities and how data can be leveraged to preserve access.
  • We are also holding some small discussion groups with Lyrasis members and clients on Thursday from 4 - 5:30 p.m. and Friday morning from 8 - 9:30 a.m. Participants will earn $150 for their library and beverages and snacks will be provided. Sign up here.
